To Those
Who Are Incarcerated
An
important function here at Grace Be Unto You Church is to go in and
minister to those who are incarcerated. We are God’s children no matter
what our background is or what culture we are from. In fact many of us
who are on the outside are in prisons of our own and often do not even
know it. I am always encouraged by Paul the Apostle. He went through
many trials during his life. Besides being flogged, stoned by a crowd,
and in a shipwreck, he was incarcerated seven times, and while in prison
he taught the Gospel to the guards and others around him. He understood
what kept him going when He wrote:
“ I can do everything through him who gives me strength” (Philippians
4:13).
Because
of his faith and trust in God he learned to be content. It takes many of
us much of our lives to figure this out. But finally when we learn to
accept today for what it is, and surrender it to God, he will take care
of our needs in the good times and the bad times.
“I know
what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have
learned the secret of being content in any and every situation”
(Philippians 4:12)
Whether
we are on the inside or the outside, we will all go through trials in
our lives. After each trial you feel better and relieved. That is
because God has used those times to make us stronger and wiser.
“And the
God of Grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you
have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you
strong, firm and steadfast.” 1 Peter 5:10
Most of
the time God will restore us though other people. Whether it’s through
Prayer, financial help, or walking beside you during the hard times,
it’s a gift from God. He will place that same desire in our hearts to
help someone else.
We cannot
all go into see those that are incarcerated, but there are many ways to
help. One of the best things we can do is pray. On this website is a
Prayer Needs Page. If you are incarcerated and want Prayer. or someone
to write you back, please send your request to don@gracebeuntoyouorg. It
will be added to the Prayer page with only your first name, and also
forwarded to the Pastor.
We as a
Church pray that God will keep you strong, and prepare you for the
blessings he has in store for you. Keep looking forward and know that
God loves you!
