Repentance

Mark 1:15  “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

Mark 6:12 They went out and preached that people should repent.

Job 11:14,15  14 if you put away the sin that is in your hand and allow no evil to dwell in your tent, 15 then, free of fault you will lift up your face; you will stand firm and without fear.

  Ezekiel 18:21,22  ²¹ “But if a wicked person turns away from all the sins they have committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, that person will surely live; they will not die. ²² None of the offenses they have committed will be remembered against them. Because of the righteous things they have done, they will live.

Psalm 147:3  He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Acts 2:38  Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Communion Sunday

Beauty for Ashes, Valentine luncheon will be Saturday 11^th, 1:00pm.  All ladies welcome.

All persons who work weekly in the church, Pastor Bill would like for you to attend one of the bible studies a week, 12 noon, or 6pm except the elderly, disabled, or if attending school.  If you can’t attend, please see Pastor.

The Church will be giving Pastor Gregg Tillman and family a going away reception. All who would like to help, see Pastor or Sister Diane. The date has not been set for his departure. We are at the planning stages.

Men of Valor meet every week at Bro Dave’s home.

Freedom for sin

Ezekiel 36:25,26 25I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

Acts 10:43 All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

Romans 6:6,7 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.

2Cor 5:17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Romans 6:1,2   Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ

 1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?

Romans 6:11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 37:39 The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD; he is their stronghold in time of trouble.

Psalm 146:8 the LORD gives sight to the blind, ?the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD loves the righteous.

Psalm 32:7 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

Psalm 42:11 Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? ?Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Psalm 68:13 Even while you sleep among the sheep pens, the wings of my dove are sheathed with silver, its feathers with shining gold.”

January 23th - Pastor Bill will be speaking at the Springs Rescue Mission at 5:00pm

January 28^th - We will be serving lunch at the Shelter of Hope at 12:00 noon, we served over 1.000 people for lunch during 2011, for our monthly feeding.

Fruitfulness

John 15:1-5   The Vine and the Branches  1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Psalm 1:3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.

Jeremiah 31:12 They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion; they will rejoice in the bounty of the LORD— the grain, the new wine and the olive oil, the young of the flocks and herds. They will be like a well-watered garden, and they will sorrow no more.

Psalm 92:14 They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green,

Hosea 14:5 I will be like the dew to Israel; he will blossom like a lily. Like a cedar of Lebanon he will send down his roots;

2Peter 1:8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you to the volunteers that served lunch Christmas Eve at the homeless shelter, and also at the homeless motel. Thank you.

Thank you to Maria’s Taco shop, located at 2812 East Pikes Peak for their donation of 50 turkeys to needy families during Christmas.

Thank you to the team of volunteers for the toy give-away.

Thank you to all the generous donors who adopted families for Christmas and those who donated Christmas trees and decorations for families in need.

Thank you for the food drive, we received 846 pounds. We gave away 3000 pounds with 100 volunteer hours.

Wednesday the 4^th we served 156 adults and 70 children in our food pantry.

Thank you to the Springs Rescue Mission, for food donations during Christmas season.

Saturday, January 14^{th -} Beauty for Ashes will hold the first meeting of the year at 1:00pm. All women welcome.

The Holy Spirit

Luke 12:12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”

John 14:26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,

1Cor 6:19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

Titus 3:5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,

Jude 1:20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit,
