About Us
The Recovery Corner
is a mutual vision of
Grace Be Unto You
Outreach Church. As you can see from
our ministries our focus and passion is helping the incarcerated, the
poor, the sick,
and the lost. One of the ways we can help people is to show them the
path to becoming closer to God. Many of us in this Church were once
lost, hit our bottom, found our way to God, and allowed him to
heal us. The 12 step program has Christian roots. Many don't realize
that the founder of the 12 step program was healed of his addiction when
he gave his live to Christ in absolute surrender. Our prayer is that
this site will provide information and insight to help those that are in
search of answers.
The Jonah Group got it's name
because, many of us had to
live in the belly of a big fish for three days, and be spit up on the
beach, before we would turn to God in obedience.
Jonah 2:1 Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the fish’s belly.
-
Do you, or did you have a
problem with addictions?
-
Are you looking for a safe
place to go where you will find the support of other Christians who
understand?
-
Do
you find it difficult to get closer to Jesus?
Then come on out to the Jonah
Group. The Jonah
Group is a Christian based 12 step group whose purpose is to
enter the process of becoming more like
Christ and also to increase our fellowship with God.
This group is a safe place to share,
and look for the support of other members as we all walk this walk together. This group is to provide a path for
hurting and/or addicted people to learn about Jesus Christ, and find the
hope of a better life. The difference between The Jonah Group and many of
the the
numerous 12 step recovery groups that are out there, is that we claim
Jesus Christ as our higher power, which was the basis of the first 12 step
group.
The 12
steps are truly a biblical path to God.
-
Steps 1,2,3 are about the acceptance and
surrender that we can’t do it on our own, and that we need Jesus in our
lives.
-
Steps 4 -7 are the self examination
and asking God to cleans us of our shortcomings.
-
Steps 8-9 are the healing process of
forgiveness with people we have hurt.
-
Steps 10-12 are where we learn to walk
this walk daily and take it to others who are hurting.

Proverbs 23:29-35
Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who
has complaints? Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes?
Those who linger over wine.
Who go to sample bowls of missed wine.
Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it
sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly!
In the end it bites like a snake and poisons like
a viper.
Your eyes will see strange sights and your mind
imagine confusing things.
You will be like one sleeping on the high seas.
Lying on top of the rigging. “They hit me” you will say, “but I’m not
hurt They beat me, but I don’t feel it! When will I wake up so I can find
another drink?”
2 Corinthians 7:1
Let us purify ourselves from
everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of
reverence for God.
Grace Be Unto You Mission Statement
Grace Be Unto You
Outreach Church, is an outreach church, with a vision for the lost,
as well as the saved. Our purpose is to reach out to the wounded,
broken hearted, hopeless, etc. and introduce them to the saving grace
and knowledge of Jesus Christ. To encourage them with God’s word
(the Bible) and his Love. We pray that they will grow to the full
potential that God has placed within them. We desire to be a
church after God’s own heart; to give Love, sacrificially and
unselfishly. To reach out through evangelism, teaching and
preaching, so that God’s people may claim the victory in their lives
through Jesus Christ.
§ Grace
Be Unto You
History
Grace Be Unto you Outreach
Church began in the year 1989 in Pomona California as a Outreach
Ministry. The outreach’s first mission was to a neighborhood called sin
town, where Pastor Bill and a young minister named Terry Green
evangelized to gang members. Our first membership started with a young
teenage girl who was a part of that crowd and her parents soon
followed. As Pastor Bill continued to evangelize he reached out to the
homeless, the hungry and those addicted to drugs. In the year 1991 the
Lord moved Pastor Bill and his family to Colorado (with his wife’s job,
Focus On The Family) the ministry was left in the very capable hands of
our spiritual covering, Pastor Derrickson On February 1, 1998 the Lord
prompted Pastor Bill to “rekindle the fire” and begin ministry again
here in Colorado Springs. Our first building was at Powers and Omaha,
with Pastor Bill and his wife Diane as the first members. We had only
one chair at the time, but God blessed us with 10 more from Pastor Ralph
Kelly. We stayed in that facility for 2 years, until the Lord opened
the door for us here on Barnes Rd. in the year 2000, where we’ve been
working for the Lord every since. Pastor Bill ministered as Chaplain at
Manna Ministries, he is also currently a volunteer chaplain for the
Sheriff’s Dept in CJC and Metro Jail’s, volunteer Chaplain at Memorial
Hospital and we currently feed and minister at the Red Cross Shelter.
We also serve in a nursing home here in the springs. We have outreached
to other churches within the community and encouraged them to serve in
the Red Cross Shelter they are as follows, Pastor Larry Gadson, (Times
of Refreshing Church), Pastor Ralph Kelly (Good News Church) and Pastor
Calvin Johnson of (Solid Rock Church) , Pastor Bill would like to
personally thank all of these Pastor’s and their members for their work
in the harvest to feed, encourage and love those that are less
fortunate. We at Grace Be Unto You Outreach Church are in our 9th
year of ministry and we thank and praise God for anointing,
strengthening and equipping this church body, to walk in the vision that
God has called forth for this church. Thank you all for coming and
please continue to keep us in prayer.
God Bless You,
Pastor William Chancy
