Mission Statement
Grace Be Unto You
Outreach Church, is an outreach church, with a vision for the lost,
as well as the
saved. Our purpose is to reach out to the wounded, broken hearted,
hopeless, etc. and introduce them to the saving grace and knowledge of
Jesus Christ. To encourage
them with God’s word (the Bible) and his Love. We pray that they
will grow to the full potential that God has placed within them.
We desire to be a church after God’s own heart; to give Love,
sacrificially and unselfishly. To reach out through evangelism,
teaching and preaching, so that God’s people may claim the victory in
their lives through Jesus Christ.

History
Grace Be
Unto You Outreach Church began in 1989 in the city of Pomona California.
Our first commission was to minister in a community called
Sin
Town. A community held in fear and drugs by the Crips
Street Gang.
Pastor
Bill would spend his Saturdays on the streets seeking out people to pray
for and witness the Word of God to.
The
Church started with Pastor Bill, his wife Pastor Diane, and their five
children. Later Pastor Bill ministered to a teenage girl that had been
living in incest with her parents. She became the first actual Church
member. Soon her mother started to attend, and then her father came and
repented over his struggles, and the family accepted Jesus Christ as
their personal Savior.
As
Pastor Bill Continued to evangelize he reached out to the neighborhoods,
the homeless and crack cocaine users, giving out clothing and food. The
Church moved many times from store front to store front, and sometimes
ministered out of the homes.
Pastor
Bill and his family would take other families into their home who were
struggling with drugs or other issues. That was the beginning of the
shelter ministry.
In 1991
Focus On The Family moved to
Colorado Springs
Colorado. Pastor Diane worked there, and when the ministry moved, the
Lord placed it on Pastor Bill’s heart to move the family there also. The
Grace Be Unto You California ministry work was left in the capable hands
of their spiritual covering, Pastor Derrick.
In 1998
the Lord prompted Pastor Bill to rekindle the fire and begin Grace Be
Unto You here in Colorado Springs. Our first location was a tent on
Omaha Blvd off of Powers. The Church had a desk and a chair to start
with. Pastor Bill’s dear friend, Pastor Kelly donated six chairs. A
couple months later New Life Church donated 40 metal chairs.
Pastor
Bill ministered as a chaplain in El Paso County for 6 years, a chaplain
at Memorial Hospital, Chaplain at Manna Ministries, fed and ministered
at the Red Cross Shelter in downtown, which is now called the Shelter of
Hope. Pastor Bill also worked with The Springs Rescue Mission in their
beginning.
Later on
Grace Be Unto You moved up North to Barnes Road, and then to Wasatch in
Downtown Colorado Springs, and in 2007 to the present location.
During
2005 and 2006 the Church served as an over night shelter on cold and
snowy nights. People would come in off the streets, to receive food,
prayer, and a warm place to sleep.
We also
had three services on Sunday. Two of those services were for the
homeless. Afterwards we served breakfast at the first service and dinner
at the last service. We also had a nurse available to assist and advise
people of other resources and information. Penrose Pastoral Nurses
provided free flu shots.
Our food
bank operated once a week to provide healthy boxes of food to families
in need, along with Thanksgiving and Christmas Turkey Baskets. Toys For
Tots provided Christmas toys for the need children.
Gray
Line Bus Tours provided transportation on Thanksgiving to transport
homeless people up to Christ Haven Lodge in
Florissant.
Christ Haven greeted everyone with love, great food, and a wonderful
Thanksgiving Day.
Grace Be
Unto You Has A Good Youth Service for all age groups. Our excellent
director and teachers are responsible for teaching the word of God to
our youth.
Pastor
Bill continues to work outside the Church at places like CMRC Men’s
Prison, Memorial Hospital, Springs Rescue Mission, Shelter Of Hope,
Men’s Bible Study, Mission Medical Service, and others.
The Lord
has brought this Church through many storms and trials. He has been
faithful to Grace Be Unto You Outreach Church. Pastor Bill and Pastor
Diane thank God and all of you that have worked so hard through the
years.
We
Celebrate with joy and love knowing there is more to do in the next ten
years.
